Well, this is disappointing. But if you were familiar with his blog, it’s hardly a shock. Erik Rhodes died — exactly like Brett Mycles — of a heart attack in his sleep early Thursday morning.

I’m actually surprised by the widespread coverage his death is receiving, but Gay Porn Times reminds us he was a big enough star that Loehmann’s hired him for an ad campaign that gave a wink and a nudge to gay porn fans. Also, his association with Marc Jacobs (before Harry Louis came along) gave so much material to New York’s gossip rags.

UPDATE: His death even got the attention of The New York Times.
